GOOD TO KNOW

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before joining us on the mountain.

Where do you offer ski lessons, and how do you choose the ski area

We offer personalized ski lessons and private guiding across the international waters of Zermatt, Switzerland and Cervinia, Italy. Wherever we ski, we handpick the perfect terrain based entirely on your ability, experience, and goals for the day.

Can we ski in both Switzerland and Italy during the same full-day booking?

Yes! If your skiing ability allows and the weather permits, we can easily guide you across the international border between Zermatt and Cervinia to experience the best of both worlds.

What is the difference between your ski lessons and private guiding?

Ski Lessons focus on technical progression, confidence building, and improving your form.
Private Guiding focuses on exploring the vast Matterhorn Ski Paradise, finding the best snow, avoiding lift lines, and discovering hidden mountain gems.

Can the whole family ski together in one lesson?

Yes, where everyone's skiing abilities and goals are compatible. We tailor family lessons to the ages, confidence and experience of the participants.

Do you cater to absolute beginners?

Absolutely. We tailor our pace and coaching techniques to make your very first days on the snow safe, encouraging, and highly rewarding.

Where do we meet our ski instructor?

Our usual meeting point in Zermatt is at Bayard Sport rental store, conveniently located next to the Sunnegga funicular station. Your exact meeting arrangements can be confirmed when booking.

Do we need to book ski lessons in advance?

We recommend booking in advance, especially during busy holiday periods, to give you the best chance of securing your preferred dates and instructor.

Are ski passes and equipment included?

No. Ski passes and rental equipment are not included in our lesson prices and need to be purchased separately. You'll need a valid ski pass and suitable equipment for your lesson. We're happy to help you understand what you need before your ski day.

What should we bring to our ski lesson?

You'll generally need suitable ski clothing, gloves, goggles, a helmet, skis, boots and a valid ski pass. We'll share any additional recommendations before your lesson.

What languages do your instructors/guides speak?

Our team is international. We offer lessons in English, German, Spanish and Russian. Please specify your language preference when booking.

What are your rates for private lessons and guiding?

Our prices vary depending on whether you book a half-day or full-day session, as well as the time of the season. Please visit our prices page or contact us directly for a personalized quote.

How many people can join a private booking?

Our base rates usually cover up to 5 people. You can add extra participants for a small fee, provided everyone in the group has a similar skiing ability so you can get the most out of your time.

What lift pass do I need to buy?

This depends on your skiing level and our daily plan:
Beginners: You won't need a full-area pass. A dedicated Zermatt Beginners Ski Pass is perfectly sufficient. It includes the Sunnegga funicular, Wolli - Beginners Park, and the nearby practice lifts.
Intermediates to Advanced: We highly recommend the International Lift Pass, which gives you unrestricted access to both the Swiss and Italian sides of the mountain.
If you're in doubt, don't worry-your instructor will help you buy the absolute best ski pass for our first day together.

How do we coordinate the morning meeting?

Once your booking is confirmed, we will contact you the evening before at the latest to finalize the exact meeting time, location, and to update you on the current snow conditions.

What happens if the weather is bad or the border lifts between Zermatt and Cervinia are closed?

If all lifts are completely closed due to storm winds or severe weather, we will try to reschedule your session or issue a full refund.
If the international border link is closed due to wind but lifts are running on one side, your lesson/guiding will still go ahead in the open area in Zermatt.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand plans can change. Our standard policy allows for:
You can cancel your lesson up to 48 hours in advance for a full refund or a free reschedule. Participants are required to have valid accident insurance. Protection insurance can be purchased through SkiCare.ch (CHF 5.- per person per day) together with the ski pass to participate in the ski lesson.
